Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 2026-08-14
CounterSpeech has a zero-tolerance standard against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This page states those standards for users, reviewers, and applicable store and legal requirements.
Intended audience
- CounterSpeech is not designed for children. The intended audience is adults 18 years of age or older.
- CounterSpeech is not a dating app and is not intended for meeting, messaging, or forming relationships with minors or anyone else.
- Nothing is posted automatically. Users review and control what they publish. AI-generated drafts are suggestions only; you decide whether to post on X.
Zero-tolerance standard
We do not tolerate child sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation, grooming, or CSAM on CounterSpeech.
Users may not create, upload, distribute, request, promote, or facilitate CSAE or CSAM — including in account information, draft edits, reports, or any other content submitted through the app or related services.
How to report
Report suspected CSAE or CSAM to our designated child safety contact:
Include what you saw, where you saw it (for example a queue item or account), and any other detail that helps us locate it. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
How we handle reports
- We review and act on child-safety reports.
- Where applicable, we remove or restrict violating content and accounts, including pausing or revoking beta access.
- We report confirmed CSAM or CSAE to appropriate authorities where legally required.
- We comply with applicable child safety laws, including those that apply to the operation of this service.
